After the start of her daughter, Laura Marling thought it may be the tip of the highway for her songwriting profession.
“I suppose I might been programmed to suppose parenthood or motherhood was the tip of need, in a means — and the tip of the self. And I used to be so pleasantly shocked by that not being the case,” she says.
On this session, Marling joins us to speak about making her newest album, Patterns in Repeat, and the methods through which parenthood has been a supply of readability and inspiration for the English musician.
“Patterns that play out over generations are fascinating, and they’re an enormous a part of the type of individual you might be — and how much mum or dad you may be,” she says.
