Black Pumas’ Soulful, Communal Celebration

As fame creeps up on Jeff Rosenstock, he refuses to commerce in his morals; between Hellmode songs about self-doubt and local weather change, the DIY punk stalwart thanked competition staff for taking excellent care of artists in a single breath and shamed companies for privatizing water in one other. His followers saved it actual, too: After serving to Rosenstock crowdsurf whereas enjoying saxophone, they lifted an older lady within the moshpit and crowsurfed her to the entrance. The set had a large turnout, making Jeff Rosenstock and his band the most recent act to hitch the storied record of artists getting too huge to play the Blue Stage.

Rosali’s Nonchalant People-Rock
Wearing an all-black outfit and outsized sun shades to match, Rosali carried out onstage with the easy stance of your coolest good friend nursing a hangover—whereas nonetheless wanting suave, after all. The North Carolina singer-songwriter led her band via the nice and cozy Americana, basic rock guitar solos, and lackadaisical people strums of her new album, Chunk Down, giving the music an additional edge with witty retorts and cheeky one-liners. As Rosali and her bandmates spun folk-rock made for again porch beers and lazy afternoons, she sang coolly, “Child, I don’t give a shit.” We all know, and her nonchalance is infectious.
