Amid nationwide protests and outrage over a trainee physician’s rape and homicide in a Kolkata hospital throughout her obligation hours, the Ministry of Residence Affairs has issued a diktat to all states asking them to submit stories on legislation and order scenario each two hours.
As per the notification, the Residence Ministry has directed all state police forces of the nation to ship stories each two hours by way of mail, fax and even WhatsApp.

The competent authority has desired to observe the legislation and order scenario report of your state/UT in opposition to the homicide of a trainee lady physician in RG Kar Medical Faculty and Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal. Henceforth, a steady two-hourly legislation and order scenario report on this regard might kindly be despatched to the MHA management room by fax/e-mail/WhatsApp from 4 pm as we speak (16/08/24), the MHA reportedly said.

NDTV has learnt that states have began sending stories, beginning August 16.
“It will be sure that stories regarding essential points attain in time,” disclosed a senior official.
He mentioned within the Kolkata rape case, a number of lacunae have been observed. “In such essential instances, motion must be taken swiftly,” he added.
The 31-year-old postgraduate trainee physician was discovered brutally murdered on the seminar corridor of the government-run RG Kar Medical Faculty and Hospital on August 9.
The incident highlighted a number of severe flaws and lack of help from involved officers and this situation acted as a set off for the protests. After a mass anger over no important progress by the native police, the Calcutta Excessive Courtroom transferred the case to the CBI.
“This significant step has been taken to maintain a vigil on the safety conditions in all of the states and the UTs,” said a senior MHA functionary.
